http://www.musicthinktank.com/blog/merch-table-essentials-15-ways-for-musicians-to-increase-sal.html

As album sales are becoming a less meaningful component in the overall success of an artist or band, the live performance sector, including ticket sales and merchandise sales, is becoming increasingly important. Ten Ways to Get Gigs from Music Venue Promoters
http://www.themusiciansguide.co.uk/blog/04/ten-ways-to-get-gigs-from-music-venue-promoters/

1. Make it clear that you promote your gigs on high traffic localised areas – if you’re approaching a promoter in Leeds he will like to see that you can let thousands of people in Leeds know about his venue. Let the promoter know that you run local PPC or Facebook advertising campaigns for your gigs if you do and tell them that you will manually reach out to people in the area on Twitter if that’s what you plan to do, essentially you’re cutting the venues marketing costs.

Some good advice in here...

Are You Thinking Like Google? | SEO Book.com
http://www.seobook.com/are-you-thinking-google

No, not like that, but in the good way! :D

The following is a guest post by Jim Kukral highlighting one of the most fundamental tips to succeeding online.

Have you ever really taken a step back from all the technical SEO stuff and thought about why Google wins? The real reasons why they have mass-market share and why they continue to dominate? It’s time you should, because once you understand how to start thinking like Google, you can finally begin to go beyond just ranking better, but also how to be a master Internet marketer so you can get more sales, leads and publicity.

Ten Ways to Get Gigs from Music Venue Promoters
http://www.themusiciansguide.co.uk/blog/04/ten-ways-to-get-gigs-from-music-venue-promoters/

When I used to play drums in a band I wrongly assumed that to get gigs I have to send demos out – the better my music, the high the acceptance rate. It seems sensible right? My thinking was basically that if I send more demos and make better music then I will get more gigs, which is true, but a bad way of thinking (IMO).
